Dateline: TOKYO Tokyo stocks tumbled 2 percent on Wednesday, with technology blue chips Toshiba and Fujitsu leading the market lower on worse-than-expected earnings news and a second straight day of losses on Wall Street.

The U.S. dollar was higher against the yen.

The Nikkei Stock Average of 225 selected issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed down 201.65 points, or 2.05 percent, at 9,632.66 points Wednesday. The index slid 5.60 points, or 0.06 percent, to 9,834.31 on Tuesday.
