NATO-led peacekeepers failed to find war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic
on Wednesday when they searched a home where his relatives had gathered
to mourn the death of the fugitive's mother.
Mladic, the commander of the Bosnian Serb army during Bosnia's 1992-
95 war, is wanted by the U.N. war crimes tribunal on charges of genocide
and crimes against humanity.
He has been at large since he was indicted in 1995, and is believed
hiding in the neighboring Serbia and Montenegro.
Mladic and Radovan Karadzic, the wartime political leader of the Bosnian
Serbs, are the two fugitives most wanted by the U.N. court. NATO has
