NSW: Foo denied bridging visa but may stay until October

SYDNEY, Aug 13 AAP - Illegal immigrant Jim Foo could remain in Australia for at least seven more weeks despite an independent tribunal refusing to grant him a three-week visa, his lawyer said today.

The Migration Review Tribunal late yesterday upheld an Immigration Department decision to deny Mr Foo a bridging visa, lawyer Nigel Dobbie said.

"(Mr Foo's) application for a bridging visa was refused by the tribunal," he said.
