Dateline: JERUSALEM
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg visited survivors of a Palestinian
suicide bombing Tuesday, saying that Americans and Israelis alike
had to "stand up and fight back" against terrorism.
The Israeli army has killed two Hamas leaders in response to last
week's attack on a Jerusalem bus, which killed 21 people, including
six children. Five of the dead were Americans.
The violence has thrown the U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan into
crisis, with no indication that talks between Israeli and Palestinian
leaders on withdrawing Israeli troops and cracking down on militants
could resume soon.
