When Vancouver School of Arts and Academics opens next week, it will follow the schedule an ad hoc group created two weeks ago.
The main objective of the scheduling changes, approved by the district's board of directors Tuesday, is to give students more time in academic subjects and align the curriculum with basic education requirements for a traditional school.
High school students will now receive 150 hours of instruction in academic subjects, an increase from the 102 hours they previously received. The revised schedule keeps the school's former homeroom-style class called "advocacy" and the interdisciplinary class called ...
