White House briefing held for Arab Americans, American Muslims
WASHINGTON - Leaders of American Muslim and Arab American organizations
attended a briefing at the White House this week with President Clinton,
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Secretary of State Madeline Albright and
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Mousa. The meeting was a historic occasion,
as it was the first time in which American Muslim and Arab-American
community leaders were congregated by an American President to meet with a
visiting head of state.
The meeting focused on the bi-lateral relationship between the United
States and Egypt as well as their respective roles in the Middle East peace
