September Free Thursdays (September 5, 12, 19, 26) at the Walker Art Center
go global, with events such as Yoko Ono's project Mend Piece for the World,
and screenings of the film A Thousand and One Voices: The Music of Islam.
Ono's newest version of Mend Piece, created in response to September 11,
invites visitors to reassemble broken pottery while reflecting on healing
(September 5, 12, 19, and 26). A Thousand and One Voices, screening as part
of this year's Sound Unseen Festival, explores the great diversity and long
history of music in Islamic societies (September 26). Other programs
