Funnyman Jamie Foxx talks about serious role as Muhammad Ali cornerman

Jamie Foxx was born Eric Bishop on Dec. 13, 1967, in the tiny town of
Terrell, Texas. His mother, Louise, who had been adopted, put her baby up
for adoption. Raised by his grandparents, Foxx exhibited an array of
talents in his childhood, from singing in the church choir to
quarterbacking his high school football team.

But Foxx only discovered his ability to make people laugh as an adult, in
1989, when he decided to try his hand at stand-up on open-mike night at a
comedy club on a dare. Foxx, a natural crowd-pleaser, went over big. So, he
