For its extensive efforts to revitalize an impoverished, urban community,
Bon Secours Baltimore Health System in Baltimore, Md., has received one of
the health-care industry's most prestigious honors, the Foster G. McGaw
Prize for excellence in community service. Two hundred applicants - a
record number - competed for this year's prize, which is sponsored by the
American Hospital Association, the Baxter International Foundation and the
Cardinal Health Foundation.
"Bon Secours Baltimore takes a holistic approach to improving community
