Operation Green Leaves staging bigger Ft Champet: Willy Chirino, Boukman
Eksperyans to headline show at Miami Legion Park
Ft Champet, the traditional community festival celebrated annually in
rural Haiti, brings people together and gives them the opportunity to
recognize and give thanks for the earth and the environment.
The South Florida version of the festival, which is sponsored in Miami by
Operation Green leaves, has established a tradition of bringing people
together from throughout the community for a full day of celebration of
Haitian and Caribbean culture.
Ft Champet 2000 will be held Saturday, Aug. 26 at the American Legion Park
at 7447 NE Seventh Avenue in Miami.
