Cleveland day, public schools respond to California shooting: Most have
programs to help troubled students
In the wake of this week's school shooting in a suburb of San Diego,
Calif., Cleveland educators are attempting to address concerns of students
and parents. On March 5, a high-school freshman opened fire at his school,
killing two students and injuring 13 other people. The episode was the most
deadly act of school violence since the Columbine High School shootings in
1999.
Although the accused killer, Charles Andrew Williams, reportedly joked with
friends about his intentions, few took him seriously. According to a report
