Airlines scrub 112 domestic and international flights

MANILA -- A total of 112 domestic and international flights for Dec. 31 and
Jan. I have been canceled as airline companies and passengers prepare for
the Y2K computer glitch.

But domestic airlines will continue to service their regular routes on the
last day of the second millennium although they will cancel 50 of their 82
flights on the first day of the third.

Country managers of international airlines regularly flying the Manila
route said the cancellations were due to low bookings from passengers who
would rather keep their feet firmly planted on the ground at the turn of
the century.
