An international commission investigating Holocaust-era insurance policies
is meeting this week against a backdrop of recrimination over who is
responsible for the dismally low number of resolved insurance claims.

The International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims, comprising
state insurance commissioners, leaders of Jewish organizations, Israeli
government officials and insurance company representatives, is scheduled to
meet May 9 and 10 in Washington D.C. It will discuss whether the insurers
