When Muammar Gadhafi asked that his remarks not be broadcast during the
Arab League summit in Amman at the end of March, the delegates thought the
eccentric, 59-year old colonel was just doing his usual shtick. But when he
told them to forget about Jerusalem -- "the hell with it, you solve it or
you don't, it's just a mosque and I can pray anywhere," he said, according
to reports -- and suggested that Israel might one day become a full member
of the Arab League, they could not believe their ears.
