Work begins at village adopted by India Abroad Foundation
Reconstruction of Hingaria village in the quake-hit Abdasa subdistrict of
Kutch in Gujarat has begun, with plans to build more than 100 houses, a
creche, a library, a school and a grocery store.
The village, located about 40 miles from Bhuj, the epicenter of the Jan. 26
quake that devastated large parts of Gujarat, is being rebuilt by the India
Abroad Foundation, in association with the Vibhash Trust. It is one of the
few villages in the state where reconstruction has begun in earnest.
