Some thoughts on arranged marriage
For nearly an hour, a Silicon Valley dot-com hotshot chatted earnestly with
a reporter for a mainstream American publication about his arranged
marriage to a doctor in India a few years ago. He offered pictures of the
wedding - and his $3 million home near Sunnyvale.
But early next day, the Indian businessman, who must remain unnamed, called
the reporter with an urgent request.
"Please don't use my name or that of my wife in your story," he said. "It
is better if we leave us off the story completely."
When the reporter persisted in telling the man there was nothing
embarrassing in what he had said, the Indian entrepreneur shot ...
