Introducing The NEW Indianapolis Recorder

The Indianapolis Recorder is a 105-year-old publication and is the fourth
oldest surviving African American newspaper in the nation. So what makes it
new?

A lot of things!

The Recorder began changing in 1990 under the new ownership of local
businessman William G. Mays. It began to re-evolve two years ago with new
objectives and direction, under new management. However now, in the year
2000 those goals have taken shape and the Recorder has made a major
transformation in appearance, display, readability and performance.

The creativity has been explosive. New concepts and ideas have emerged. The
