Radio One buys WHHH, 3 others: Largest Black-owned broadcasting company
acquires Hoosier Radio and TV

Radio One Inc., the nation's largest African-American owned broadcasting
company, has acquired Hoosier Radio and TV, Indianapolis' Black-owned media
company. The deal was announced jointly Monday by Alfred Liggins, president
of Radio One, and William G. "Bill" Mays and Bill Shirk, owners of Hoosier
Radio and TV.

Besides obtaining Hoosier Radio and TV, Radio One announced Monday the
purchase of six radio stations from another Black-owned company, Davis
Broadcasting based in Augusta, Ga. On the same day, Radio One bought 12
