SPEARFISH, S.D. - William Samuel `Sam' DeCory passed peacefully into the
Spirit World to be with his relatives after his last battle with "Agent
Orange" complications on May 24 at Rapid City, S.D.
DeCory was born June 4, 1936, at Two Strike Community near St. Francis,
S.D., on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation. He was known as Wakinyan
Akicita (named by grandmother, Lucy "Shell Woman" LaRoche Schweighman) and
Isnala Wakan Inajin (named by grandfather Frank Fools Crow). He was son of
Sam DeCory Sr. and Ada Schweighman DeCory (both deceased) and beloved
brother to Darlene and Jerry Kochorhans, Jack DeCory (deceased), and Lois
