"She has done so much to make her people strong, to keep so many alive in
their bodies, in their souls. Multitudes she has mothered in times of dense
distress."
Here is a book worth giving -- Tonya Bolden and R. Gregory Christie's
tribute to the Black Church. It's written for youth, but it's a book that
will delight all ages and will make a wonderful birthday or special
occasion gift.
Bolden's homage to the Black Church is a poem that speaks of the humble
beginnings of the Black Church to present times. Her poem is strong and
fierce, yet tender with gratitude.
