The entire issue of hip-hop and Broad Ripple is clouded with
misunderstanding. Coming to any firm conclusions is a difficult task.
For some people, any notion of a "crisis" simply doesn't exist-and never
really existed except as a figment of the media's imagination.
"They say you can't book hip-hop shows in Broad Ripple," says Ron Miner of
Crush Entertainment. "But I've been bringing hip-hop to Broad Ripple for 12
years. I've never really had any problems."
"Hip-hop has been in Broad Ripple forever," says Russell Johnson of the
Mudkids. "As long as people want to listen to it, it'll be there."
