This book describes Chinese food found currently in various parts of Asia,
including the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Japan. Australia is
also included, and there is even a chapter on the food of ethnic minorities
in a certain neighborhood of Beijing.

When I saw that the work is the result of an anthropology symposium, I was
afraid that I'd have to fight through a sludge of academic jargon. And
indeed, the reader has to cope with words like "informationalization" and
phrases like "metaphors through which the mechanism of self-construction
with regard to ethnicity ...
