NSW: Carr reaffirms pledge to stand in next state election

SYDNEY, Sept 6 AAP - NSW Premier Bob Carr today said it was improbable he would ever run for federal politics, despite reports he wanted to move to Canberra.

Weekend newspapers today reported Mr Carr still harboured political ambitions at a national level, and would consider a move to Canberra possibly before the 2007 state election.

Speculation concerning Mr Carr's departure from state politics has been fuelled by comments purportedly made by the premier to the author of a new book scheduled for publication on Monday.
