Crecco Bill to Penalize Tattooing of Minors Without Parental Consent Passes
Legislation sponsored by Assembly members Marion Crecco would require
minors to obtain parental consent to receive a tattoo or have a body part
pierced was approved today by the full Assembly.
The bill, A-811, would find guilty of disorderly persons offense anyone who
knowingly tattoos or engages in body piercing of a customer under the age
of 18 without written parental consent. A disorderly persons offense is
punishable by a prison term of up to six months, a maximum fine of $1000,
or both.
