Crecco-Talarico Bill Would Penalize the Tattooing of Minors Without
Parental Consent

Legislation sponsored by Assembly members Marion Crecco and Guy Talarico
that would require minors to obtain parental consent in order to receive a
tattoo or have a body part pierced was released today from the Consumer
Affairs and Regulated Professions Committee.

The bill, A-811, would find guilty of a disorderly persons offense anyone
who knowingly tattoos or engages in body piercing of a customer under the
age of 18 without written parental consent. A disorderly persons offense is
punishable by a prison term of up to six months, a maximum fine of $1,000,
or both.
