"Baywatch" Star Joins with Conservation Leaders to Pass Beach-Goer
Protection Bill

"Baywatch" star, real-life lifeguard and ocean advocate Michael Newman on
July 25 joined with U.S. Senate and House members and leaders from American
Oceans Campaign (AOC) and the Surfrider Foundation in urging the Senate to
pass strong legislation that would help protect the health and safety of
America's beach goers.

The Senate is currently considering the Beaches Environmental Assessment
and Coastal Health Act (BEACH bill, S. 522), sponsored by Senator Frank
Lautenberg, which calls for national, health-based water quality standards
and provides increased federal funds to coastal ...
