By the afternoon after Election Day, the result of the presidential contest
between Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush was still uncertain.
But whatever the final tally turns out to be, exit polls revealed that the
Jewish vote in the presidential election went strongly for the Democratic
ticket of Vice President Gore and Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman.
