Dr. Wilson, Noted Choral Director, Dies
The nation has lost one of its musical giants. Dr. J. Harrison Wilson,
noted organist and pianist, conductor of choral and instrumental music, and
music teacher, passed Monday morning at Kaiser-Cadillac.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at historic
Second Baptist Church, 2412 Griffith Ave. Dr. William S. Epps, senior
pastor, will deliver the eulogy.
Dr. Wilson, at the time of his death, was the president of the Georgia
Laster Branch of the National Association of Negro Musicians, Inc. He was
also very active in the Southeast Symphony Association.
