Expert: Drugs Alone Won't Cure Insomnia

Chronic insomnia sufferers often need to "unlearn" their condition and
cannot depend on prescription medications alone to relieve their
sleeplessness, says a Stanford expert.

"Many long-term insomnia sufferers have developed habits that need to be
unlearned through a process called cognitive behavioral therapy," explains
Rachel Manber, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral
sciences and director of the insomnia program at Stanford Medical Center's
Sleep Disorders Clinic.
