Los Angeles County Celebrates 150 Years
Los Angeles county will celebrate its 150th birthday this month with a
"Parade and Festival of Nations" and two days of free festivities designed
to showcase Los Angeles County's cultural diversity, Board Chair,
Supervisor Gloria Molina announced last week.
As a special gift to the public, Los Angeles County will commemorate this
historical moment by offering free admission at three Los Angeles County
gardens and at four county museums. Official celebrations will begin on
Friday, Feb. 18--the county's birthday--and conclude on Feb. 20 with the
Parade and Festival of Nations.
