BETWEEN THE LINES: Dilemma of Black Business; 10 Years Revisited
Ten years ago last week, I wrote my very first article, under this by-line,
about the dilemmas that faced black business growth and longevity. Nineteen
ninety-one was the first year of a new decade that saw black businesses
struggling to get to the next level of growth, and a politic that was
afraid to challenge the status quo on issues of economic justice and
financial reciprocity. The issues back then were principally the lack of
access to investment capital, growth dollars (loan/expansion capital)
