HISTORIC APPOINTMENT: Black Woman Commands Air Force Flying Squadron

It was appropriate that U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Stayce Harris was installed
as the new commander of the 729th Airlift Squadron during Black History
Month.
Harris is the first black woman in the Air Force to assume command of a
flying squadron, thus taking her rightful place in the annals of black
history.
The ceremony took place Saturday at March Air Force Base in Riverside and
for Harris, the appointment proves to be one of her top life achievements.
