Althea Gibson inducted into Florida's Women's Hall of Fame

TALLAHASSEE -- Althea Gibson, a graduate of Florida A&M University, was
inducted into the Florida Women's Hall of Fame recently for her
contributions to the improvement of life for women and all citizens of the
state of Florida.

"Ms. Gibson is enshrined in many Hall of Fames," said Fran Gray, president
and CEO of the Althea Gibson Foundation. "This one is very special to her.
She is grateful for the time, care and energy that FAMU put into helping
her to launch her career. Someone at FAMU discovered that she was worth the
energy and effort."
