A small group of Department of Public Works employees are quietly and
effectively eliminating the ravages of illegal dumping and other blight and
hazards from the streets of the City of Los Angeles.

They are Street Use Inspectors assigned to the Bureau of Street Services
and are the enforcement arm of the Department of Public Works. Though small
in number they are responsible for protecting citizens from injuries that
may occur as a result of construction, community activities or public
health and safety hazards such as illegal dumping.
