Humphries to get Trumpet Award
TALLAHASSEE - Florida A&M University President Frederick S. Humphries will
be the first college president honored during the Turner Broadcasting
System Inc.'s Trumpet Awards ceremony, January 8 at the Omni Hotel in
Atlanta.
"To us FAMU represents all that a college or university is supposed to
include in curriculum and overall programmatic thrust," said Xernona
Clayton, creator and executive producer of the Trumpet Awards. "We really
wanted to recognize Dr. Humphries because we know that the leader sets the
standard. We think he is a great combination of leadership and learning."
