Robert Williams memorial dedicated in Baldwin

A living memorial to the late Robert F. Williams, "the first Black leader
of modern times to advocate armed self-defense by Black victims of racist
violence" according to the program brochure, was dedicated May 5 in Lake
County, Michigan.

Mabel and John Williams, wife and son of the author of Negroes With Guns
and President-in-Exile of the Republic of New Africa, proudly accepted a
portrait of Williams that will adorn the entrance to the Robert F. Williams
Family and Community Center in Baldwin, which is adjacent to the Black
resort community of Idlewild.
