Some 100 classic millenial books
The following list contains some of the landmark books of relevance to
global African history and culture, irrespective of genre or discipline,
published during the last three centuries. The list does not presume to be
comprehensive; it is only a rough guide. Thus the avid reader or scholar
may find that some important writers and literary artists are not
represented. The reasons for such documentary gaps are strictly temporal
and spatial. My lovely but demanding editors suggested that I put this list
