`Where the Girls Are': First-ever report devoted to New York City girls
reveals how they are faring as compared with boys and girls nationwide
Girls Incorporated of New York City released the first-ever report --
entitled "Where the Girls Are" -- devoted exclusively to the status of the
health and welfare of New York City's 600,000 girls and young women ages
6-18.
"A smaller percentage of girls in New York City drink and smoke more than
girls nationally, but the news about New York City girls' safety, health
and earning potential is disturbing," said Emma Jordan Simpson, Executive
Director, Girls Incorporated of New York City.
