The newly formed Citizens Commission on the African Union which has set its
goal to promote and monitor the progress of the African Union, which
replaces the old Organization of African Unity, held its inaugural public
session in Harlem by holding a reception for His Excellency Amara Essy,
chair of the African Union Commission and His Excellency Lawrence Agubuzu,
Commissioner for the African Union.
"This is a great day here in Harlem," said Citizens Commission chair Randy
Daniels, "and we are confident that it also represents the dawning of a new
era as the peoples of that great continent and those of us in the African
Diaspora commit ourselves to strengthening ...
