Jim Thorpe is considered one the greatest American athletes ever. He
already has a special Sports Award named after him by the Native American
Music Association, and is the subject of a recent play by country music
songwriter Marcus Hummon called Warrior.

Now Wheaties, The Breakfast of Champions, announced at a ceremony held in
Jim Thorpe, Penn. that the legendary Jim Thorpe, an American Indian who
left humble beginnings on an Oklahoma reservation to become known as the
world's greatest athlete, will be honored on the cover of the celebrated
cereal box.
