Pro wrestling, once campy fun, now hurts: Do extreme violence, attacks on
women, reflect today's society?

Commentary

Nowadays, professional wrestling, which has become a booming,
multi-million-dollar industry, is known as "sports entertainment." I'll
begin by saying that I have been a wrestling fan for many years. That's
right, when I'm not studying opera, analyzing feature films, or observing
ever-changing musical trends, I watch pro wrestling.

In fact, as a child, I would go with my family to the Spectrum, where we
would watch heroes and hellions such as Tony Atlas, Ernie "The Cat" Ladd,
Junkyard Dog, Tito Santana and George "The Animal" ...
