Minnesota House to repeal Crazy Horse malt liquor ban: Representatives vote
nearly unanimous

The Minnesota House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly April 18 to
repeal a 1994 legislative ban on alcoholic beverages bearing the names of
historical indigenous figures.

Aimed primarily at the brewers of Crazy Horse malt liquor, the law also
prohibited sales of Chief Oshkosh beer, named for a prominent Menominee
leader, and any other malt beverage "which states or implies a false
connection with an actual living or dead American Indian leader."
