Family planning pioneer retiring: Scarborough sought women's health
benefits for 32 years
The countdown has begun for Temple University Hospital and School of
Medicine's Family Planning director Ruth Scarborough. On March 30, she will
bid farewell to the health sciences campus after 32 years of service, but
she will forever be considered a family planning pioneer.
This North Philadelphia native was originally hired to work in the
hospital's pulmonary clinic, but while preparing to join the staff she
