Pact may end Convention Center's labor squabbles

Representatives from organized labor, contractors and decorators and the
Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority met Thursday at City Hall to sign
the Pennsylvania Convention Center Project Labor Agreement.

The Agreement, to be effective for two years, is designed to provide
quality service for events being held at the Convention Center, located in
the Center City.

The agreement actually was signed a day earlier and the ceremony was
reenacted at a press conference held by Philadelphia Mayor John F. Street.
