Council on Thursday

With time and momentum against them, the backers of a Phillies baseball
park in Northern Liberties now rank as 100-1 long shots in the great
stadium controversy.
But they're not giving up.
The leaders of Liberty Yards Association will show up at Thursday's City
Council meeting, ready to demonstrate why the old Schmidt's Brewery site at
Second Street and Girard Avenue would be best for the Phillies.
"We're the only neighborhood that actually wants the stadium," group
