Article: New Center Council adds spice to Detroit in a variety of ways

Sparking growth and vitalization in the New Center Area are the goals of
the New Center Council (NCC), a nonprofit business organization. Perhaps
best known for presenting the annual Comerica TasteFest, the NCC is
dedicated to developing New Center into a vibrant, diverse, economically
healthy district and the northern anchor for greater downtown Detroit.

"We're a business organization, so we represent the interests of the
business community," said NCC President Michael Solaka. "Our mission is to
maintain New Center as a viable urban district to live, shop, work, or
