Capital Punishment: "It's Time To Abolish The Death Penalty"
Since capital punishment or the death penalty was reestablished by the
Supreme Court in 1977, executions in America have been on a steady rise.
Thirty-nine of our fifty states put people to death for crimes committed
within their jurisdiction. The eleven progressive states that don't have
the death penalty are:
North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Rhode Island,
Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Alaska and Hawaii. It might also be added
that the progressive states without the death penalty collectively have far
less murders and rapes than the 39 that practice capital punishment.
