ELIZABETH, N.J. - New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey appointed Theodore J.
Romankow to the position of Union County prosecutor. The official
swearing-in ceremony took place in a courtroom in Elizabeth, N.J., on July
26. The ceremony was witnessed by more than 250 people.
Following the oath, several speeches and congratulations of well-wishers
were made by prominent judges, prosecutors and attorneys. Among those
present were members of the Ukrainian American community: the Rev. Bohdan
Lukie, who gave the invocation and benediction, Walter Bodnar, Nestor
Olesnycky and Bozhena Olshaniwsky.
