Article: Friendship Baptist Sunday School Celebrates 127 Years

When Friendship Baptist Church in Southwest celebrated its 127 years of
Sunday School last week, the epicenter of the celebration was 91-year old
Mary Taylor.

Taylor started Sunday School at Frienship when she was 20. Seventy-one
years later, she still looks forward eagerly to arriving at church early
and performing her duties as a Sunday School teacher.

According to Taylor, she began teaching at the Church when a new
superintendent they had decided to do a thorough re-organization at
Friendship when she was 20. "When the new superintendent came, she
appointed me to start teaching juniors between the ages of nine and 11.
