(Daily Trojan) (U-WIRE) LOS ANGELES -- The University of Southern California
creative writing department is lacking in full-time professors and
students outnumber available spaces in the workshop classes, said
the professors and students in the department.
There are plans to hire at least one full-time professor this year,
but unsuccessful recent attempts and lowered class sizes have caused
problems for students who wanted to join the workshops this semester.
Instead of being taught by full-time professors, these upper-level
courses have adjunct or part-time professors to cover the number of
students who need to take these classes for their major.
